Wines

From the microclimate to the soil, fRom tHe surrounding trees to fermentAtion & aging.

We make each one of our wines because we believe in their particularity, that they reveal different and unique characteristics of the vineyard. That is why, after reflecting on their significance, we have established three lines of identity for Laberinto.

CENIZAS

Planted on curves and slopes, these wines come from Andean soils that were formed from volcanic ash accumulated over thousands of years. Through their vinification in stainless steel and concrete tanks, the wines obtain an incredible juiciness and minerality. As a whole, they harmoniously represent the different characteristics of the place.

With this line, we want to enhance the fruitiness and freshness that characterize them, by maintaining a natural approach with minimal intervention.

It has an intense fruity and oily character, with hints of quince and medlar on the one hand, and rich aromas of acacia and quillay on the other.

Sauvignon Blanc

100% SAUVIGNON BLANC

The vineyards of our Sauvignon Blanc have a south-west exposure. The soils are volcanic, containing a great amount of ashes, which has been sedimenting for millions of years due to the puelche, the name of the winds that blow from the Andes Mountains. They are produced in 4 different blocks with different exposures that achieve a complex and intense blend.

100% SAUVIGNON BLANC

The 2021 season was cold and with abundant rainfall in winter, spring and summer; over 1,000 mm which allowed for adequate natural water management in the soil, very favorable for the quality of the grapes. We achieved small clusters and produced one kilo of fruit per plant.

The harvest began on the 24th of February with very concentrated grapes. The juice is characterized by a low pH and high acidity, fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature, stored on its lees for six months before bottling. Fermentation with minimal intervention and then bottled unfiltered.

100% SAUVIGNON BLANC

Sauvignon Blanc with a deep yellow-green color, clean, and unfiltered; through mineral notes, aromas of leaves from native trees of ColbĂșn and a citric taste that expresses its freshness and elegance. All of which provides a rich acidity, firmness and structure. Ideal for pairing with fresh oysters, sashimi, ceviche or tartar with a green salad or tomatoes with goat cheese.

The 2022 season was marked by a very rainy winter and spring compared to previous years. In addition the summer was colder than normal, which caused a slow and delayed ripening process. It was the first variety to be harvested starting at the end of February. Characterized by very high acidity and low pH, both favored by the perfect condition of good growth in the green stage and calm at the time of fruit ripening. Yields were 1.2 kg per plant.

Pinot Noir

100% PINOT NOIR

The Pinot Noir variety is planted in the southeast, in the most recondite sector of the vineyard. It is the shadiest and coolest place, with the plants being exposed to the south-west, benefiting from the unique characteristics of this location.

100% PINOT NOIR

The 2018 harvest began at the end of March, which was cooler and later. The season ripened slowly, with light rains during summer season that helped keep the weather cool, high acidity in the fruit and a low yield per plant of 0.5 kilograms.

It was fermented in concrete tanks with native yeasts at controlled temperatures. Maceration lasted 18 days of alcoholic fermentation, then we racked to 400-liter French oak barrels for 12 months, with minimal intervention and bottled unfiltered.

100% PINOT NOIR

Intense ruby red in color, very clean, it is a wine rich in aromas with floral notes such as rose, laurel buds and red fruits. In the palate it lets you feel the native trees that abound in the vineyard, such as Quillay, and the humidity of the soil through earthy touches; achieving a very rich textured wine. It can be a very good companion to roasted vegetables, such as mushrooms, legumes, such as lentils, or poultry, such as duck.

The 2021 season was cold and with abundant rainfall in winter, spring and summer; over 1,000 mm which allowed for adequate natural water management in the soil, very favorable for the quality of the grapes. We achieved small clusters and produced one kilo of fruit per plant. We started the manual harvest in mid-March and early in the morning. It was characterized by very low yields.

Maceration for 6 hours in pneumatic press, leaving 20% of the fruit for 5 days of skin contact. Racking in clay amphorae and concrete tanks at cold temperatures, and then proceeded with the alcoholic fermentation of the juice. The wine is kept on its lees for 8 months and bottled unfiltered.

The 2022 season was marked by a very rainy winter and spring compared to previous years. In addition the summer was colder than normal, which caused a slow and delayed ripening process. Characterized by very high acidity and low pH, both favored by the perfect condition of good growth in the green stage and calm at the time of fruit ripening. Yields were 1.2 kg per plant.

2020 was a season of normal temperatures, characterized by very cold nights, with harvest starting at the end of March. Low rainfall marked this season, with minimum temperatures below 10°C, which helped to preserve the acidity in the fruit very well.

Harvested by hand early in the morning. Macerated for 16 days in amphorae and concrete tanks. Native yeasts were used, and the wine was kept on its lees for 8 months without mechanical or chemical intervention.

100% PAIS

Lively, elegant ruby red wine, unfiltered. Stony, and of great complexity and intensity. Full of natural microbiology, with fruity and wildflower aromas, enchanting and enveloping the mouth. Due to its rich tannin, it is a great accompaniment to Chilean traditional cuisine, such as potato pie, casserole, lentils with bacon and other legumes.

Trumao is a name of Mapuche origin that identifies the soil of volcanic formation present in this area, marking the grapes with a mineral and graphitic character. These are deep soils with a precise organic matter composition that allows the vines with a very sensitive root system, such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc, to establish themselves in a balanced and sustainable manner over time. The blocks of this vineyard are oriented towards the north, inspiring the name of this wine.

The 2018 harvest began in mid-April, which was cooler and later. The season ripened slowly, with light rains during summer season that helped keep the weather cool, high acidity in the fruit and a low yield per plant of 0.7 kilograms. Harvested by hand early in the morning, 80% of the grapes were destemmed and fermented in concrete tanks with native yeasts at controlled temperatures. Gentle maceration for 22 to 24 days of alcoholic fermentation, then racked into 400-liter French barrels for 16 months. Made with minimal work intervention and bottled unfiltered.

63% CABERNET FRANC, 25% MERLOT Y 12% CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Trumao Norte is a reactive and very intense wine. With an aroma marked by volcanic touches, graphite and the native forest of ColbĂșn. It has great complexity and a intense elegant ruby red color. Its silky tannin and structure is ideal to accompany food with intense flavors, such as meat, especially lamb. Also with chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa.
